The GDSFA is reintroducing their Knock Out competitions for the girls and ladies. All clubs from the GDSFA and Blacktown Association are invited to enter. They will be playing for named Cups including the MARY FOX CUP.
Mary Fox was introduced to soccer football through the Granville Waratah club first becoming a team manager in 1979 and then in the early 1980’s joining her Club’s Committee as the Publicity Officer, a position she held for 6 years, followed then by becoming the Club’s Secretary for 12 years, retiring in 2000. Whilst fulfilling these club roles she also nominated to join the Association’s Management Committee, being elected as the Assistant Registrar in 1990, retiring from the position in 2000, but stayed on in an unofficial capacity for a further 2 years. Towards the end of her time on the Association’s Management Committee, her contributions were acknowledged with an Association Life Membership and by having the Girls’ under 14’s Knock Out competition Cup named in her honour. The Mary Fox Cup was first introduced in 2001.
